Abbey Steele, a junior point guard at Gray-New Gloucester High School, won the 2026 State of Maine foul shooting championship during the Maine McDonald's Senior All Star festivities at Husson University in Bangor. Abbey sanked 48 of her 50 free throws, which was just two better than sharpshooting sophomore Cali LeClair of Mt. Ararat High School. Also competing were regional champs Leah Jones of Camden Hills and Kylie Lamson of Cheverus High School.
The boys' championship went to senior Reece MacDonald of York High School. Reece dropped in 45 of his 50 shots to take the title. Darren Flagg of Leavitt Area High School came in second place with 43 makes. Other regional champs competing were Harper Cocover and Nick Jamo.
