Recent Bylaw changes adopted by MABC
The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches recently adopted changes to our bylaws affecting, among other things, who can vote and participate in MABC funtions. Under the new bylaws, adopted at the fall meeting, only active members will be allowed to hold office and have voting privileges. Active members are those coaches who have paid their yearly membership dues. In addition, only active members' players will be allowed to participate in MABC events, including foul shooting contests and the McDonald's Senior All Star game, or receive MABC awards.
We have also amended the registration period for membership. Individuals may now register from May 1st to December 31st. We will not be accepting memberships for that year after the registration period has expired. Previously, memberships closed after the fall meeting. It is very important that coaches understand that they must be paid members in order to vote and have their players rewarded by the MABC for their achievements. This is a major change from previous years. View complete bylaws.
